Apopka Fact of the Week:

Less than a mile east of The Lodge was East Apopka, or East End, a station on the Florida Midland Railroad from about the year 1886. A resort hotel was built there and connected to the railroad station by a plank walk. This little settlement, like Lakeville, was subsequently absorbed by Apopka.
